<aside> 💡 Open Enrollment runs from November 1st - 15th. Any changes made during Open Enrollment take effect in January. You need to email [email protected] and submit all forms within 60 days after a Qualifying Life Event, if you want to make changes to benefits enrollment outside of this annual open enrollment period.

We are not changing our insurance providers and there are no changes to the plans offered. Our medical premiums are increasing by 5%, but every year the City contributes up to 6% more towards medical premiums. This means in 2026 no plans require any employee contribution and HSA amounts have increased. Dental premiums have gone up this year by 12%, but the Whatcom Fire Trust is going to cover the difference in rates for 2026.
